Going to Heaven on an Airplane

Sawyer is 3 years and 3 months old. I really love this age although I could handle one day without him asking me "why?' 150 times. He has an a amazing imagination. He also seems to hear and remember just about everything. He may not understand exactly what is being said, but he will remember it. When I pick him up from Sunday School he always tells me what he learned about that day. His teachers say he is usually the one answering every question during story time. He has been asking some questions of his own at home about Jesus. It is one of the greatest joys to be able to teach my children about Christ.

A few weeks ago I was giving Sawyer a bath and he was washing himself and he said, " I am washing my sins away." I don't know where he heard that term, but it was so funny. I asked him who washes away our sins and he said "God." I was able to talk a little about how God sent Jesus to save us from our sins. He continues to say this every time he takes a bath, so it is safe to say he doesn't quite get it. Of course I don't expect him to understand everything at this age.

Last week Justin put Sawyer in time out and he said, "Daddy, is Jesus going to take my time out?" Justin didn't know what he was talking about and Sawyer said, "remember, you said Jesus takes our punishment for us?" That little stinker.

Just last night I was tucking Sawyer in and he asked me if God was in the sky. I told him God lived in heaven and he asked if we could go to heaven on an airplane and see God. So sweet!

I am so excited to see what God is going to do in his life. I pray that he will always look for ways to get closer to God.
