All By Myself

I love that my kids are little and that they still need their mommy. It really makes me sad to think about them growing up and not needing me so much. However, I am ready for them to do some things by them selves. I mean seriously, I need a break every once in a while. So, I have been encouraging Sawyer to clean up after himself, take care of his own potty needs, and dress himself. I lay out his clothes and he usually chooses his own shoes.
He is doing a pretty good job and really embracing this new found responsibility. He is so proud of himself. Sometimes his clothes are on backwards, but no big deal.
Too bad he is not a child of the eighties like his momma or I could just claim he was an avid Kriss-Kross fan. "Jump, Jump!"

Jax on the other hand wants to do everything by himself and I have to fight him to just let me help. He wants to be big and I am struggling to keep him little. This week he even pooped on the potty twice. Yay! Of course, he also pooped once on the floor, but I am choosing to focus on the positive. He wants to ride Sawyer's bike so much. He will sit on it for a half an hour, just sitting and trying to push the pedals. He is so determined.
He is also getting better at cleaning up after himself. Every Sunday when I pick Jax up from his class he is helping his teachers clean the tables and pick up toys. I can't wait until they can clean the toilets and mop the floors.
